Job summary

Southridge Behavioral Hospital is seeking a Cook to safely prepare, cook and present meals for patients, staff and visitors in a hospital setting. Scratch cooking experience is required and flexibility with per diem hours is needed, including at least one weekend per month.

The facility is located in Grand Rapids, MI, and is part of a joint venture with Universal Health Services. Candidates should be able to follow oral and written instructions while maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen.

Qualifications

• High School Required.
• Experience as a cook or cook's aide in an institutional setting is preferred.
• Experience with scratch cooking required.
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions in order to operate food service equipment.
• Must be able to complete assigned tasks in order to provide an efficient, safe, sanitary, attractive and orderly facility.

Responsibilities

• The Cook is responsible for safely preparing, cooking and presenting meals according to hospital recipe and menu for patients, staff and visitors. Experience in scratch cooking is required.
