Job summary

Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Kentucky is seeking a Weekend RN to provide direct nursing care in the Stepdown Unit, following established policies and procedures.

This full-time, 0.9 FTE position requires an ADN/Diploma with BSN within five years, Kentucky RN license, and BLS within 45 days; weekend shifts from 7pm to 7:30am, with emphasis on discharge planning, patient education, and multidisciplinary coordination.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or diploma in nursing required upon hire.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required within 5 years of employment in this position.

Responsibilities

• Performs functions related to problem definition, data collection, interpretation and analysis.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with patient/family and team.
• Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.
• Performs job duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
