The role reports to the Nursing Assistant Director and requires leadership, clinical expertise, and strong collaboration with the staffing team.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN, a California RN license, and valid BLS/ACLS credentials, with 3+ years in an acute care setting and supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of full-time RN experience in an acute care hospital.
• Experience in a supervisory/leadership role (Charge Nurse/Head Nurse) preferred.

Responsibilities

Hours: .9 FTE weekender supervisor position ( Friday, Saturday ,Sunday)

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Nursing Assistant Director, this position utilizes the nursing process and
organizational/leadership skills to coordinate services of staff to patients during the designated shift.
Assures patient care is appropriate to the age and developmental level of patients served. Assesses staff
need for the unit, collaborates with the staffing coordinator, Nursing Assistant Director, and Administrative
Nursing Supervisor to ensure patients needs are met.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred

Minimum Experience/Skills:
Minimum of three (3) years of full-time recent experience or its equivalent as a Registered Nurse in an acute care hospital ED Department with one (1) year of which was in the capacity of a Charge Nurse or Head Nurse or other supervisory/leadership role.

Licenses/Certificates/Credentials:
Must possess and maintain throughout the duration of employment:
Current California RN license
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Provider issued by the American Heart Association
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or ENPC Certification issued by the American Heart Association
Current CPI card – Nonviolent Crises Intervention Training
CEN certification preferred

Age-Specific Care Requirements:
Knowledge and understanding of differences in care requirements for the newborn (0 to 30 days), infant
(31 days to 1 year), pediatric (1 to 12 years), adolescent (13 to 17 years), adult (18 to 70 years), and
geriatric (71+ years) and modify nursing care as appropriate
