Job summary

St. James Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in New York is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join a geriatric rehabilitation team.

Weekend coverage (Saturday and Sunday) with independent assessment and treatment within a Skilled Nursing facility is required. The ideal candidate will hold an AS or BS in Respiratory Therapy, be licensed as an RRT or CRT in the appropriate state, and possess BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state of practice with BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments and implement respiratory techniques for rehab.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Perform bedside treatments.
• Provide quarterly in-services for nursing staff.
• Maintain daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheostomy.
• Experience in long-term care setting.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Complete tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Perform related duties as required.
