Job summary

The Encore at Boca Raton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Boca Raton, FL is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. The RT will assess and treat geriatric residents, operate respiratory equipment, and document care with minimal supervision.

Qualified candidates must be licensed in Florida (RRT or CRT), hold COARC-accredited education, and have BLS certification, with experience in long-term care and collaboration with IDT.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT in the state of practice.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques for rehab patients with respiratory and non-respiratory illness.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments: Oxygen therapy, Oxygen weaning, Aerosol therapy, PEP therapy, Deep breathing and coughing, Respiratory muscle training, Incentive Spirometry, Chest physiotherapy, Suctioning, Tracheostomy care and airway management.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter and maintain daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings and track, audit and manage caseload.
