Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 0.75 FTE weekend program, 30 hours per week, with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The role involves promoting cardiopulmonary health, applying scientific principles to patient care, and maintaining high-quality outcomes.

Authorization to access medication spaces is required. The position requires a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care credential, NBRC-registered status, an Ohio license, and BLS

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree from a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care program.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist by the NBRC, required.
• Current Ohio license to practice respiratory care, required.
• AHA BLS, required.
• Current PALS or NRP certification may be required depending on unit of hire.
• Additional certifications may be required after hire.

Responsibilities

• Promote optimum cardiopulmonary function and health.
• Apply scientific principles to prevent, identify, and treat cardiopulmonary dysfunction.
• Access unit medication rooms or bedside drawers to retrieve medications as authorized.
• Develop and implement care plans, protocols, and disease management programs per guidelines.
• Provide Respiratory Care using a Family Centered Approach.
• Assess patient needs and communicate with the care team.
• Participate in data collection, quality improvement, and reporting.
