Job summary

Nationwide Children’s Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 0.75 FTE night shift (30 hours per week) in Columbus, OH. Base pay is $44.50/hour with a $3.50/hour shift differential.

Responsibilities include promoting cardiopulmonary health, applying scientific principles, and providing care under medical direction with an interdisciplinary team. Requires NBRC-RT, Ohio license, BLS; Associate or Bachelor’s in Respiratory Care; PALS/NRP may be required depending on unit.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree from a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care program, required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care, required.
• Current Ohio license to practice respiratory care, required.
• AHA BLS, required.
• Current PALS or NRP certification may be required depending on unit of hire.
• Additional certifications may be required after hire.

Responsibilities

• Promotes optimum cardiopulmonary function and health.
• Applies scientific principles to prevent, identify, and treat cardio-pulmonary dysfunction.
• Accesses unit medication areas to retrieve medications as needed under supervision.
• Develops and implements care plans and disease-based clinical pathways.
• Provides Respiratory Care using a Family Centered Approach.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team and participates in data collection and quality improvement.
