Job summary

Shelter House, Inc is seeking a Residential Coordinator for Saturdays and Sundays 5pm-1am in Alexandria, VA. This role provides essential 24-hour awake coverage for 20 units, serving as first contact for client needs and support.

You will work with case managers to reinforce service plans and maintain a safe, respectful living environment. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years in human services.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of experience in human services field (e.g., mental health, homelessness, domestic violence).
• Ability to build strong relationships with clients and team members.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends when needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe functioning of the shelter and a safe environment for clients.
• Monitor front desk check-ins and inquiries.
• Perform rounds of the building interior and exterior.
• Document interactions in the daily log.
• Collaborate with case managers to support service plans.
