Job summary

Nasdaq, Inc. is seeking a Specialist - System Operations for weekend coverage to ensure reliability and availability of critical production systems. You will monitor alerts, perform server administration, and drive automation initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, documentation, and ongoing improvements in automation and operational excellence. This is a fully remote US-based position with a four-day work week and 10-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in computer science, IT, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise server infrastructure and production environments.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows server administration; hardware issue remediation.
• Experience with Python and basic Ansible/Shell or PowerShell scripting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure alerts using HP OMi and other monitoring tools.
• Manage server operations including hardware maintenance, BIOS updates, RAID components, and virtualization (Hyper-V).
• Perform Linux and Windows patching, health checks, and compliance activities.
• Automate tasks with Python and Git; contribute to process improvements.
• Document workflows, runbooks, and best practices in Confluence; collaborate with engineering.
