Job summary

Nasdaq, Inc. in New York or Toronto is seeking a Systems Operations Specialist to ensure reliability and scalability of Nasdaq's platforms in a 24/7 global environment. The role emphasizes automation, incident response, and collaboration across distributed teams.

You will manage on‑prem and cloud environments (AWS) and Kubernetes (EKS), build IaC with Terraform, and support CI/CD with GitLab, while leveraging Python, Bash, and PowerShell for operational tooling and workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in technology or infrastructure operations.
• At least 4 years of experience in systems or technical operations.
• Strong scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Hands-on experience with Linux environments (RHEL) including admin, troubleshooting, and networking basics.
• Experience with Kubernetes (production support) and AWS.
• Clear communicator able to work in globally distributed teams and rotating schedules.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and support production systems and apps across on‑prem, AWS, and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Contribute to design and deployment of cloud-native capabilities using Terraform and GitLab CI/CD.
• Build and maintain automation tools using Python, Bash, and PowerShell for provisioning and config management.
• Collaborate with engineering to resolve operational issues and drive improvements.
• Respond to incidents, service requests, and escalations with timely, clear communication.
