Job summary

Aspen Trail Retirement Community in Colorado Springs is seeking a Relief Cook to cover Saturdays and Sundays in our scratch-based kitchen, preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner while ensuring safety, quality, and portion control for residents.

You will work in a warm, welcoming environment, building positive relationships with residents, guests, and team members, and helping keep the service line stocked and sanitary during weekend meals.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Available to work Saturdays and Sundays, at least 8 hours per day.
• Ability to read, speak and understand basic English.
• Experience in kitchen preparation and cooking, preferred.
• Must secure appropriate food handler permits within two weeks of first day.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present high‑quality dishes by cooking a variety of proteins and vegetables, ensuring each plate is appealing.
• Engage in continuous improvement by contributing ideas during meetings and staying attentive during service hours.
• Complete all opening and closing tasks and support teammates to maintain a clean, safe kitchen.
• Keep stations stocked and organized, refresh pantry items, and monitor refrigeration.
• Ensure a sanitary kitchen by cleaning work areas and recording temperatures for safety.
