Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a part-time Radiology Support Technician for weekend shifts on the MRI – Muhl unit. The role emphasizes accurate order verification, patient contact, and coordination with radiology staff to ensure smooth workflow.

Responsibilities include documenting procedures, ensuring PACS readiness, and maintaining a clean, safe work area while supporting patient care and department operations. Prior customer service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED.
• Less than 1 year experience in a customer service role.
• Ability to display a compassionate, positive, and upbeat disposition in interactions with patients and colleagues.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Basic computer and typing skills.
• Interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 30 Days.

Responsibilities

• Confirms physician orders are complete and includes signature, ordered study, reason for test (diagnosis/CPT codes) and obtains missing information prior to treatment.
• Ensures coordination of daily work duties and communicates any necessary information.
• Documents LMP, fluoro time, radiologist, appropriate history and all other required documentation.
• Confirms levels of supplies and equipment to meet requirements for patient care and/or specific departments.
• Maintains accurate information in the database; performs all clerical/computer functions to support patient care.
• Ensures the safety and efficiency of movement and transportation of patients within and to and from departments.
• Ensures images have crossed into PACS before study is complete.
• Performs registrations, as required.
• Assumes responsibility for cleanliness and sanitation of the immediate work area and maintains orderliness.
