Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is actively seeking a weekend Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility at Bishop Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Syracuse, NY. The role offers opportunities for mentorship, career growth, and flexible scheduling with evening and weekend hours available.

Qualified candidates are graduates of an accredited PTA program and hold a current New York State PTA license.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist.
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document on residents as needed.
• Teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.
• Collaborate with the PT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members and contribute to team effort.

Education
