Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is actively seeking a weekend Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility at Ontario Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Canandaigua, New York. The PTA will follow the plan of care, assist residents with daily activities, and collaborate with the supervising PT.

NY license required; accredited PTA program graduate; mentorship and growth opportunities; competitive compensation; evening/weekend hours.

Qualifications

• PTA must graduate from an accredited PTA program.
• New York State PTA license is required.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist.
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document on residents as needed.
• Teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.
• Collaborate with the PT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members & contributes to team effort
