Sigma Health Rehab is actively seeking a weekend Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team at Slate Valley Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Granville, New York. You will work under the supervision of a licensed PT, assisting residents with therapy activities and daily living tasks.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited PTA program with NY licensure. We offer mentorship, career growth, and a supportive, state‑of‑the‑art rehab gym environment, with flexible weekend

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Current New York State PTA license required.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities per plan of care set out by supervising PT
• Assist residents with daily activities
• Monitor residents' performance, provide encouragement and document progress
• Teach residents how to use equipment to assist with daily function
• Collaborate with PT to establish rehabilitation plan
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members & contributes to team effort

Education

Duties of an exceptional therapist include:

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document on residents as needed.
• Teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.
• collaborate with the PT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members & contributes to team effort
