Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a weekend Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team at Warren Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Queensbury, NY. The PTA will work in a Skilled Nursing Facility, supporting therapy services under the supervision of a PT.

The ideal candidate may be a new graduate, with an accredited PTA program graduate and NY license. This role offers mentorship, flexible weekend hours, and opportunities to grow professionally in a state-of-the-art rehab setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• New York State PTA license is required.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities per plan of care by supervising PT.
• Assist residents in daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy and document.
• Teach residents how to use equipment to assist daily function.
• Collaborate with PT to establish rehabilitation plan.
• Maintain cooperative relationships within the healthcare team.

Duties of an exceptional therapist include:

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document on residents as needed.
• Teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.
• collaborate with the PT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members & contributes to team effort

PTA Requirements Include:

• Graduate of an accredited PTA Program
