Job summary

Firstsource in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a FT Patient Financial Advocate for weekend coverage, responsible for screening patients on-site at hospitals for eligibility assistance programs and initiating applications bedside when possible.

You will document results, coordinate with hospital staff and client contacts, and provide ongoing reporting while maintaining confidentiality and meeting daily screening goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 - 3 years' experience of medical coding, medical billing, eligibility (hospital or government) or other pertinent medical experience is preferred.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Must have basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Screen patients on-site at hospitals for eligibility assistance programs.
• Initiate the application process bedside when possible.
• Identify patient needs and assist with enrollment applications.
• Provide information and reports to client contacts and keep them informed of progress.
• Record patient information on in-house screening sheets and document results in tracking tools.
• Conduct face-to-face screenings on-site and reach patients by telephone if needed.
• Maintain relationships with hospital staff and management; report important occurrences promptly.
• Assist with on-site or nearby site coverage and patient home visits as required.
• Maintain confidentiality of account information and keep a neat workstation.
• Adhere to policies and procedures and participate in the Corporate Compliance Program.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent
