The Salvation Army in Rochester, NY is seeking a part-time Resident Assistant to support shelter residents and maintain a safe, hospitable environment. This role works 16 hours weekly on Fridays and Saturdays from 10:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m., under the supervision of the Program Manager.

Responsibilities include monitoring residents, completing shift logs, wanding at admission, rounds for safety, and referrals when beds are unavailable.

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Crisis intervention, interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Ability to adapt to a changing and challenging environment.
• Flexibility to cover relief hours as needed.
• Basic computer skills for intakes, timesheets, emails, and logs.

Responsabilidades

• Provide support to shelter residents.
• Monitor resident activities and complete daily shift logs.
• Conduct security wanding on admission and random wand checks.
• Conduct facility rounds every 30 minutes and ensure cleanliness.
• Make referrals to alternative shelters when beds unavailable.
• Maintain basic records in the database and accurate time sheets in ADP.
• Check work email daily and attend staff meetings.
• Attend in-service trainings and complete mandatory trainings.
• Complete all other duties as assigned.
