Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory in Redlands, CA is hiring a full-time Resident Assistant to monitor residents, uphold safety, screen shelter calls, and assist with meals and referrals. You will work under the Program Director, coordinating with volunteers and staff to support homeless families and ensure smooth daily operations.

Responsibilities include incident reporting, data logging, confidentiality, and providing transport as needed, with 40-hour weekly coverage and flexible

Qualifications

• Completion of a High School Level Education or GED.
• Experience working with individuals who are in recovery.
• Minimum of one year working in recovery/human services.
• Experience with people at varying stages of recovery from substance abuse and mental health.
• Experience deescalating conflict.
• Experience operating general office equipment, including computers.
• Experience with Microsoft Office preferred.
• Background check clearance required.
• California Class C driver's license with clean MVR; TSA driving test.
• CPR and First Aid certificates current.
• Mandated Reporter Training completed prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee facility safety and conduct security checks.
• Reinforce policies and expectations for clients in the facility.
• Complete and maintain incident reports per policy.
• Screen incoming calls and route appropriately.
• Assist guests and residents as needed.
• Maintain shift activity logs with details of operations.
• Assist with intake forms and data entry for residents.
• Provide referrals and transportation when necessary.
