Job summary

Community Services For Autistic Adults & Chi in Montgomery Village, MD, is seeking a Residential Counselor Weekend Awake Overnight Shift to provide one-to-one care and skill-building in group homes.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in a human services field or equivalent, two years of autism-related experience if no degree, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and proficiency with standard office software; BPST certification is required.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a human services discipline (e.g., Psychology, Social Work) preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: Two years’ experience with autism required if only a high school diploma; one year with an Associate’s degree.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal, organizational, and computer literacy with standard office software.

Responsibilities

• Works one-to-one with residents for activities of daily living: money management, housekeeping, cooking, personal care, socialization, and leisure.
• Maintains a safe home environment and assists with furniture selection.
• Implements resident activity schedules and IP; documents changes as needed.
• Supports IP development and notifies Residential Supports Advisor for IP reviews.
• Manages resident funds and teaches money management techniques.
• Uses CIMS system for health information, emails, and incident reporting.
