Job summary

Sheppard Pratt is seeking a part-time Residential Counselor for the Residential Rehabilitation Program in Gaithersburg, MD. The role involves providing direct care to clients with serious mental illness, creating a safe and therapeutic environment, and supporting community and independent living skills.

You will work Saturdays and Sundays 4pm-12am, assisting with medication safety, planning individual service plans, and accompanying clients to appointments while documenting outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Willingness to obtain additional certifications and trainings.
• Driver’s license with 3 points or less and an insured vehicle.
• Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and therapeutic environment for clients.
• Ensure medication compliance and safety.
• Collaborate with service team to develop and implement individual service plans.
• Provide transportation to medical appointments and document follow-up instructions.
• Build rapport and act as part of clients’ trusted support system.
