Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Charge Nurse to support the Director and Clinical Manager in delivering safe, efficient patient care through the nursing process and hospital procedures. You will direct nursing staff, delegate duties, supervise patient records, and assist with performance reporting.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required in hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• Graduation from a school of nursing (AD, Diploma, or BSN).
• Certifications may be required based on unit (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS, NICU/OB certifications).

Responsibilities

• Direct nursing service activities in the department.
• Supervise preparation and maintenance of patient clinical records and assist with staff performance reports.
• Assist with bed assignments and address problems as they arise.
• Maintain preset inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines, equipment; track narcotics and medications.
