Job summary

LilyCare Hospice is seeking a Weekend On Call Hospice Registered Nurse (PRN) to cover patients on weekends across central New Mexico. The role emphasizes after-hours triage, in-home visits for symptom management, admissions and handoffs, with strong team support.

Ideal candidates hold NM RN license, BLS/CPR, hospice or home care experience, and a valid NM driver's license with reliable vehicle. Per-visit pay ranges $65–$150, with weekend on-call schedule and field-based coverage.

Qualifications

• Active New Mexico RN license in good standing (compact/multistate accepted)
• Current AHA BLS/CPR certification
• Hospice or home care experience preferred; comfortable working autonomously on call
• Strong end-of-life symptom management and assessment skills
• Valid NM driver’s license and a reliable, insured vehicle for home visits

Responsibilities

• Respond to after-hours calls and triage patient and family needs during weekend on-call shift
• Make in-home visits for symptom and pain management, comfort care, and crisis response
• Complete hospice admissions and pronouncements during on-call hours
• Coordinate care and communicate changes with the interdisciplinary team and on-call physician
• Document each call and visit accurately in the electronic health record per hospice requirements
• Provide a clear handoff to the weekday team at the end of your coverage
