Job summary

Mountain Valley Hospice is seeking a Weekend Hospice Nurse (RN) on-call for Friday 5:00pm–8:00am and Saturday/Sunday shifts, serving the Mt Airy/ Dobson area in North Carolina. You will travel to patient homes as needed, providing symptom management and end-of-life care.

The role is home-based on-call, not fully remote, with in-person visits and travel required. A NC RN license and hospice/home health experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (NC) is required.
• Hospice or home health experience preferred.
• Ability to provide end-of-life care and support families.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently.
• Must reside within a reasonable driving distance of the Mt Airy service area.

Responsibilities

• Provide phone triage and in-person care as patient needs arise.
• Travel to patient homes for symptom management and end‑of‑life care.
• Respond to patient and family needs with compassionate support.
• Care is driven by patient needs and can vary during shifts.
