Job summary

Excelsior University invites applications for part-time clinical instructors to support nursing education. Instructors will deliver and supervise clinical experiences, coordinate student assignments, and provide timely feedback while ensuring student success and access to resources.

Requirements include an active NYS RN license, a master's or BSN with progress toward advanced nursing degrees, and at least 5 years of varied RN experience. Onsite weekends and Canvas/Zoom usage are involved.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• Expert nursing knowledge and ability to support teaching activities.
• Experience supervising nursing students or new grads preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete onboarding and site-specific training.
• Adhere to institutional policies and faculty handbook.
• Work 2 weekend clinical days during each 8-week term.
• Grade clinical assignments using rubrics and due dates.
• Remain present for full clinical hours.
• Coordinate patient assignments with clinical objectives.
• Demonstrate nursing skills and use of related technology.
• Engage in pre- and post-clinical activities in Canvas LMS.
• Conduct synchronous Zoom sessions with students as needed.
• Provide targeted feedback and evaluate each student's performance.
