Job summary

Excelsior University is seeking a part-time Clinical Instructor in New York. You will coordinate student clinical experiences, provide timely feedback, and demonstrate nursing expertise for coursework and clinical sites.

Responsibilities include supervising students, conducting Zoom sessions, and ensuring adherence to institutional policies. A Master’s in nursing or BSN with ongoing graduate studies, plus an active NYS RN license, are required.

Qualifications

Master's degree in nursing or BSN with active enrollment in a master's or doctoral program in Nursing.
Active, unencumbered NYS RN license.
Minimum of 5 years of RN experience in varied clinical areas, caring for patients across the lifespan.
Current clinical experience within an acute care hospital setting.
Experience supervising nursing students and/or new graduate RNs.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to present information clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities

Complete institution-sponsored training program.
Adhere to all policies identified in the Clinical Faculty Handbook.
Work 2 non-consecutive weekends at a clinical site during an 8-week course term.
Plan and coordinate patient assignments for each student.
Demonstrate competency with nursing skills and related technology (EHR, dispensing systems, smart pumps).
Participate in pre- and post-clinical activities within Canvas LMS.
Conduct synchronous Zoom sessions with students as indicated by the course.
Provide individualized feedback summarizing strengths and areas for improvement.
