Job summary

Unitek Learning's Bakersfield campus is seeking VN Instructors to join our nursing education team. Shifts run Saturdays and Sundays from 6am to 7pm, with a one-hour lunch break, teaching both lecture and clinical components across days and evenings as needed.

Qualified applicants are Registered Nurses or Licensed Vocational Nurses with California licensure and relevant clinical experience, able to mentor students, ensure compliance, maintain records, and contribute to curriculum updates.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current licensure in the state in which you are applying to teach.
• Minimum of 3 years of recent bedside experience with a BSN, or a minimum of 6 years of recent bedside experience with an LVN degree.
• Able to meet the faculty requirements set by the Board of Vocational Nursing.
• Experience which demonstrates current knowledge of nursing practice and ability to mentor students in classroom, lab and clinical settings.
• Current immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification.

Responsibilities

• Make continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different and innovative teaching methodologies.
• Demonstrate or acquire skills for online activities as enhancers to course content during interactive teaching and learning.
• Assist with reviewing and revising syllabus for specific course within the program and instructional guidelines.
• Submit required program reports and forms to Director of the program in a timely manner.
• Keep current with new technologies and safety regulations.
• Maintain student attendance, grades, and skills check-off forms and assist with data collection.
• Assist with updating student files related to clinical requirements, immunizations and education requirements.
• Teach courses at a variety of times and locations as program needs dictate.
• Teach both lecture content and clinical rotations (days/evenings, weekends).
• Participate in professional development; maintain CE hours for licensure renewal; stay current with college updates.
• Actively participate in committees as assigned, considering teaching responsibilities as priority.

• Teaches both lecture content and clinical rotations (clinical rotations can be days, and/or evenings, on week days and/or weekends)
• Participate in professional development; maintain CE hours to ensure renewed licensure, takes responsibility for staying current with college updates
• Actively participates in committees as assigned, based on availability, taking into consideration teaching responsibilities as priority

Pay Range

The annual pay range for this position is $45.00 (minimum), $52.80 (midpoint), and $60.00 maximum).*

*Typical hiring range is between the minimum and midpoint of the above pay range. Actual starting base pay may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, location and budget.

Qualifications
