Job summary

Utz Quality Foods in Hanover, PA is hiring Packers/Quality Assurance Techs to join our team on a full-time basis. The weekend night shift runs Friday through Sunday, 5:55 PM to 5:55 AM, with competitive pay and a team-oriented environment.

You will inspect packaged items, verify codes and seals, report defects, and assist in quality assurance while maintaining a clean, sanitary workspace in compliance with OSHA, FDA and GMP standards.

Qualifications

• Learn routine quality assurance testing; product sample collection; physical property testing; sensory evaluation; and various lab techniques to support and assist as needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspects packaged items and alerts machine operator or shift supervisor of any defects.
• Verifies code, dates, and price.
• Examines package for proper seal.
• Reports any and all conditions that could lead to contaminated product.
• Packs product into cartons, cans and specialty containers and places them onto skids/conveyors.
• Prepares items for production (cans/labels/trays/rework items).
• Maintains an organized and sanitary work environment at all times following OSHA, FDA and Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
• Assists as back-up Quality Assurance Technician as needed.
