Utz Quality Foods in Hanover, PA is seeking dedicated, hands-on Packers/Quality Assurance Technicians for a full-time weekend night shift (Friday through Sunday, 5:55 PM to 5:55 AM). Responsibilities include inspecting packaged items, verifying codes and seals, and maintaining a clean, GMP-compliant work area. Prior QA exposure is a plus; lifting up to 40 lbs is required.

Qualifications

• Learn routine quality assurance testing; product sample collection; physical property testing; sensory evaluation.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Requires working proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.
• Works in a safe manner at all times and communicates any safety issues to supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Inspects packaged items and alerts machine operator or shift supervisor of any defects.
• Verifies code, dates, and price.
• Examines package for proper seal.
• Reports any and all conditions that could lead to contaminated product.
• Packs product into cartons, cans and specialty containers and places them onto skids/conveyors.
• Prepares items for production (cans/labels/trays/rework items).
• Maintains an organized and sanitary work environment at all times following OSHA, FDA and Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
• Assists as back-up Quality Assurance Technician as needed.
