Job summary

Utz Quality Foods, a leader in the snack food industry, is hiring Packers/ Quality Assurance Techs at our Hanover, PA facility on a weekend night shift (Friday through Sunday, 5:55 PM to 5:55 AM). Responsibilities include inspecting packaged items, verifying codes and prices, checking seals, and maintaining a sanitary, OSHA/FDA-compliant workspace.

• Learn routine quality assurance testing; product sample collection; lab techniques.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Works in a cross-functional team with diverse groups.

• Verifies code, dates, and price.
• Examines package for proper seal.
• Reports any and all conditions that could lead to contaminated product.
• Packs product into cartons, cans and specialty containers and places them onto skids/conveyors.
• Prepares items for production (cans/labels/trays/rework items).
• Maintains an organized and sanitary work environment at all times following OSHA, FDA and Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
• Assists as back-up Quality Assurance Technician as needed.

• Works in a safe manner at all times and communicates any safety issues to supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
