Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Homewood Museum is seeking a Homewood Museum Coordinator to provide overall assistance and security, and to take primary responsibility for visitor services. The role includes opening and closing the museum, handling admissions and shop sales via the POS system, welcoming guests, and performing basic office and maintenance duties.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Additional education may substitute for required experience per JHU equivalency formula.
Weekend schedule availability preferred (primary weekend on-site staff).

Responsibilities

Serve as primary on-site staff person during weekend hours.
Open and close site on weekend days.
Oversee and support any special weekend site activities.
Take payment for admissions as shop sales using POS system.
Welcome guests and provide basic information about the history of the site and how to navigate it.
Notify supervisor of any problems with house or collections (damage, theft, etc.).
Perform general office duties as assigned by supervisor.
Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
Other duties as assigned.
