Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Weekend MRI Technologist at Olathe Hospital to perform quality MR imaging while ensuring patient safety and comfort. The role requires participation in ongoing training on positioning, technique, and safety guidelines, with a minimum 12-month commitment and orientation completion.

Night shifts are scheduled 7:00 pm to 7:30 am on Friday through Sunday. The position supports the radiology department and may involve work across multiple locations,

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved school of radiologic technology or MR imaging.
• Certification in MR (ARRT or ARMRIT) within 180 days.
• BLS/BCLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Knowledge of computer skills and systems.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, MR technique and patient positioning.
• Prepare patients for procedures and attend to needs during examinations.
• Perform venipuncture and manage intravenous access.
• Select pulse sequences per established protocols and data parameters.
• Evaluate images for quality and confirm patient identification.
• Adhere to ACR MR safety guidelines and MR area access controls.
• Explain MR safety to patients and identify implanted devices.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain safety procedures.
• Educate and supervise students and other staff as assigned.
• Perform unit-specific professional competencies.
