The University of Kansas Health System in Olathe is seeking an MRI Technologist for night shifts (1330-2200, Mon-Fri). This full-time position focuses on producing quality MR images while ensuring patient safety and comfort, under the radiology department’s guidelines across multiple locations.

You will participate in ongoing training, perform venipuncture and IV access, select MR pulse sequences, ensure image quality, and educate students and staff.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of MR safety and imaging principles.
• Ability to position patients for MR exams.
• Experience with venipuncture and IV access is beneficial.

Responsabilités

• Demonstrate understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology and MR technique.
• Prepare patients for procedures and address patient needs during examinations or procedures.
• Perform venipuncture, manage intravenous access, and administer medications as prescribed.
• Select appropriate pulse sequences with consideration of established protocols and other factors that influence data acquisition parameters.
• Evaluate medical images for quality and to ensure patient identification.
• Adhere to MR safety guidelines such as restricting area access and screening.
• Possess MR safety knowledge and assess implanted devices to minimize risk.
• Identify and respond to emergency situations.
• Perform ongoing QA and educational activities as assigned.
• Educate and monitor students and other health care providers.
• Other duties may be assigned as required.
• Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit.
