Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking an MRI Technologist to operate MRI equipment, prepare and position patients, and collaborate with radiologists to produce diagnostic images. The role requires attention to safety, accuracy, and patient comfort across age groups.

On-site weekend shifts are required, with on-call duties as needed. A PA radiology background and MR/RT certification within one year are expected, along with ASCLS-BLS credentials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiology program.
• Ability to deal effectively and ethically with medical and confidential information relating to patients, families, physicians and nursing personnel.
• Ability to maintain a high degree of maturity and exercise individual judgment in working with patients, equipment, and personnel that are involved in MRI exams.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in all written and oral communications, including email.
• Skills in technical data interpretation.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
• RT - Registered Technologist Radiology - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire or MR - Magnetic Resonance Imaging ARRT - State of Pennsylvania within 1 Year or ARMRIT - Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist - American Registry of MRI Technologists within 1 Year

Responsibilities

• Assists in the diagnosis and treatment of neonate, infant, children, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
• Acquires or produces tomographic images of designated portions of the human body to obtain a diagnosis using magnetic resonance imaging equipment.
• Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body.
• Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality and patient data/history).
• Performs patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination.
• Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and any other areas in department.
• Performs contrast injections under the direct supervision of the radiologist or designated physician.
• Additional duties based upon the needs of the department.
