Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network's MRI team at Hazleton is seeking an MRI Technologist to operate MRI equipment, collaborate with radiologists, and maintain image quality and safety. You will prepare patients, set parameters, and ensure high-quality images are submitted to PACS, with on-call responsibilities as required by the department.

This role requires strong communication and adherence to MRI safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and accredited Radiology program diploma.
• Ability to handle medical and confidential information.
• Clear written and oral communication skills, including email.
• Skills in technical data interpretation.
• American Heart Association BLS - PA Upon Hire.
• RT or MR credentials (ARRT) within 1 year; ARMRIT within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the diagnosis and treatment of neonate, infant, children, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
• Acquires or produces tomographic images of designated portions of the human body to obtain a diagnosis using magnetic resonance imaging equipment.
• Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body.
• Ensures prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS (image quality and patient data/history).
• Performs patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination.
• Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and any other areas in department.
• Performs contrast injections under the direct supervision of the radiologist or designated physician.
• Additional duties based upon the needs of the department.
