Job summary

Cook Children’s Health Care System is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) for the Weekend Shift at Medical Center - Fort Worth, in the Lab-Pathology department. The role includes performing clinical laboratory testing in Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation and Urinalysis, with emphasis on accuracy and quality control.

The MLS uses education, experience and analytical judgment to ensure test systems function properly and to report patient results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology/clinical or medical laboratory science or related field.
• Minimum six months of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
• Certification by ASCP or registry eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing in hematology, chemistry, coagulation and urinalysis.
• Ensure test systems function properly and report patient results with accuracy.
• Staff hours and participate in on-call rotation as needed.
• Adhere to compliance plans and laboratory policies.
