Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking a Core Lab Medical Laboratory Scientist-Intermediate for the weekend day 3x12s shift. The role focuses on independently applying clinical laboratory techniques to deliver data for patient diagnosis and treatment.

You will review test results, perform quality control, and assist in instrument maintenance, testing, and policy compliance within a busy core lab. Strong communication and accurate record-keeping are essential.

Qualifications

• Advanced technical skills in performing and analyzing clinical laboratory tests.
• Knowledge of safety, quality control, and laboratory procedures.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work within a Laboratory Information System.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and follow instructions.
• Three (3) years of experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs standardized and complex laboratory procedures and reviews results for accuracy.
• Evaluates and implements new or revised laboratory procedures.
• Performs quality control procedures and troubleshooting.
• Conducts weekly preventative maintenance on instruments.
• Accessions samples for in-house and referral testing.
• Manages media and supply requests for research and clinical testing.
• Contributes to revision of policies and prepares for inspections.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
