Job summary

JPS Health Network in Fort Worth, Texas, is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) PRN to perform chemical analyses of specimens and compile data for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. The MLS PRN will work across Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology/Immunology/Serology, and Transfusion Services as needed, under rotating shifts.

Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical lab science (or Medical Technology) and must obtain

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological or Clinical Laboratory Science; or Medical Technology is required.
• Must meet CLIA '88 qualification requirements.
• Must obtain MT/MLS/CLS or ASCP/AMT certification within 1 year of employment.
• Preferred: 1+ year of experience performing various laboratory analyses.

Responsibilities

• Conducts routine to complex laboratory tests and analyses of patient specimens for diagnosis and treatment.
• Determines the acceptability of patient samples for analysis and prepares them accordingly.
• Performs calibration and preventive maintenance and verifies QC values prior to analysis.
• Prepares slides and conducts microscopic analysis as required.
• Analyzes patient samples and ensures accuracy of results for patient care.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological or Clinical Laboratory Science; or Medical Technology from an accredited college or university
