The ideal candidate will assist with patient care, operate optical machinery, and manage patient records. Applicants must have over 1 year of optometric experience and proficiency in related technical procedures. This position primarily involves weekend work with some weekdays, offering a chance to make a difference in the health of our military personnel.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as an optometric or ophthalmic technician.
• Experience performing visual fields, OCTs, and Fundus Photography is required.
• Experience with computers, including knowledge of word processing, and spreadsheet programs.
• Must have own transportation for site traveling.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the optometrist with procedures and patient care.
• Taking patient histories and maintaining patient records.
• Assisting patients in selecting suitable frames.
• Demonstrating lens care and maintenance.
• Repairing minor issues with eyeglasses.
• Keeping the office organized and making exam rooms ready.
• Testing visual acuity, depth perception, and pupil reflexes.
