Job summary

The Carolina Center for Behavioral Health is seeking a Mental Health Technician for weekend day shifts (Friday–Sunday or Saturday–Monday, 7:00am–7:30pm) to provide direct patient care under an RN. You will help maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu and assist with activities of daily living in a 156-bed behavioral health setting serving multiple SC communities.

Qualified candidates should have a high school diploma and may hold nursing assistant or patient care technician certification.

Qualifications

• High school level reading and writing skills.
• Able to maintain confidentiality and professional telephone etiquette.
• Experience with medical/psychological terminology is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic milieu and assist with daily living activities.
• Be flexible for reassignment to units serving varied populations (adolescents, adults, geriatric).
• Support crisis intervention and patient safety through 15-minute rounds.
• Assist in patient care tasks and participate in routine training.

Education
