Job summary

Advocate Health’s Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital Laboratory in Elkin, NC is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join a full-time weekend shift staff. The role is 36 hours per week with a schedule of Saturdays and Sundays plus an additional weekday as needed, 5:30 am to 6:00 pm.

The ideal candidate will hold an Associate’s Degree in Clinical Lab Technology and obtain MLT certification within a year (ASCP BOC or AMT).

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Clinical Lab Technician or related field.
• MLT certification (ASCP BOC or AMT) to be obtained within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests within established protocols and ensures timely completion.
• Evaluates results for clinical significance and reports findings according to policy.
• Maintains and documents calibration and quality control of instruments and equipment.
• Supports phlebotomists and other staff; assists in improving lab procedures and processes.
