Job summary

Howmet is seeking a Weekend Mechanical Technician at Whitehall Casting, on-site at One Misco Drive, Whitehall, MI. The role supports capital projects, equipment installation and maintenance, and drawing updates.

Training occurs on a weekday schedule before joining a three-shift weekend crew. The candidate will have 5+ years in mechanical/maintenance environments, with strong blueprint reading and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Minimum five years of hands-on mechanical/maintenance experience.
• Proficient blueprint reading and mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist Facility Engineers with completion of capital projects.
• Install, move, or modify plant equipment.
• Procurement of repair parts, spare parts, or raw materials as needed.
• Update or create new schematics and drawings.
• Provide technical assistance to maintenance staff for repairs and modifications.
• Create and implement preventative maintenance and repair procedures.
