Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Whitehall, MI is seeking a 2nd Shift Mechanical Technician at Howmet Whitehall Casting. You will support facility engineers, install or modify equipment, and procure parts needed for maintenance.

Responsibilities include updating schematics, providing technical assistance, implementing preventative maintenance, and leading improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in a mechanical or maintenance-focused environment.
• Associates degree in a technical discipline or completion of a registered apprenticeship program.
• Experience in maintenance, HVAC, equipment installation, fabrication and welding, hydraulics and pneumatics, or plumbing and piping systems.
• Good mechanical aptitude and blueprint reading capabilities.
• Energetic self-starter, able to promote and implement change, strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and with initiative.

Responsibilities

• Assist Facility Engineers with completion of capital projects
• Install, move, or modify plant equipment
• Procurement of repair parts, spare parts, or raw materials as needed
• Update or create new schematics and drawings
• Provide technical assistance to maintenance staff for repairs and modifications
• Create and implement preventative maintenance and repair procedures
