Job summary

Georgia-Pacific in Talladega, AL is seeking a Weekend Shift Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our Lumber facility. You will perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on industrial equipment to keep production running during weekend shifts.

Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems and the ability to read blueprints are required. A technical degree or equivalent manufacturing experience is preferred, with a 12-hour weekend shift and orientation week scheduling.

Qualifications

• Installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of industrial equipment.
• Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems and components.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Support operations by troubleshooting and maintaining manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Perform periodic proactive asset strategies, such as maintenance routes and preventive maintenance to improve reliability and uptime.
• Install and repair mechanical drives, belts, sprockets, gearboxes, and couplings.
• Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic systems, hydraulic equipment, circuits, and components.
• Interact with operations to identify and prioritize maintenance needs.
• Document daily work performed and machine conditions in writing.
