Job summary

L3Harris Technologies seeks a Specialist, Manufacturing Engineer (Weekend, 1st Shift) in Huntsville, AL to advance manufacturing of advanced composite rocket motor hardware at AMF North. You will manage processes, create documentation, and lead lean initiatives in a high-security aerospace environment.

Must have strong project management, CAD/ GD&T skills, and experience with welding, bonding, or composite tooling. Weekend/12-hour shifts and security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of manufacturing experience; Graduate degree with 6+ years; No degree with 8+ years of manufacturing experience

Responsibilities

• Champion process improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
• Support and lead facility transition efforts for inert product lines.
• Plan, develop, initiate and maintain processes for fabrication of advanced composite parts.
• Create work instructions, procedures, PFMEAs, and JSAs meeting requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to shop floor, design and management teams.
• Analyze drawings and specifications for robust part and tooling designs.
• Interface with support groups to ensure safety and quality.
• Investigate nonconforming hardware and implement corrective actions.
• Present fabrication processes at customer readiness reviews and change boards.
• Travel up to 5% to support suppliers or other sites.
• Occasional off-shift and weekend work.
