Job summary

L3Harris Technologies seeks a Specialist, Manufacturing Engineer (2nd Shift) for its AMF facility in Huntsville, AL. The role focuses on manufacturing and assembly of composite rocket motor hardware, applying lean methods and driving process improvements across projects.

The engineer will develop work instructions, PFMEAs, and JSAs, mentor teams, and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and design requirements. Some travel and nonstandard hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in manufacturing or related field required; graduate degree preferred.
• 8+ years manufacturing experience or 6+ years with graduate degree; 4 years with bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with lean manufacturing and process improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead process improvement projects and document procedures.
• Support facility transitions for inert product lines.
• Develop and maintain fabrication processes for composite parts.
• Provide technical guidance to shop floor and teams.
• Analyze drawings and specs to ensure robust designs.
• Travel up to 5% to support suppliers or other sites.
