Job summary

DIS-TRAN Steel is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to join the Eunice team on the Weekend Shift. The role requires hands-on maintenance of industrial equipment, with emphasis on electrical and mechanical systems.

You will troubleshoot, disassemble/reassemble machines, perform preventative maintenance, and record maintenance activities while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to interpret blueprints
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Ability to read schematics
• 2+ years of prior industrial maintenance experience
• Hydraulic and electrical background
• Experience with software, CNC, and PLC
• Regular, reliable attendance
• Computer knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Responsibilities

• Monitors and maintains production equipment with or without supervision.
• Troubleshoots and repairs minor equipment malfunctions on critical machines.
• Disassembles machines prior to maintenance work and reassembles after repair.
• Starts machines and observes operation to detect efficiency issues.
• Inspects damaged parts and reports repair needs to supervisors.
• Lubricates parts as specified.
• Reads work orders to determine repair requirements.
• Collaborates with coworkers to repair or move equipment.
• Performs scheduled preventative maintenance.
