Job summary

DIS-TRAN Steel in Eunice, LA is seeking experienced Machine Operators for weekend shifts. The role involves safely operating CNC machinery (drill, saw, etc.), reading tapes and blueprints, and performing daily machine maintenance.

Responsibilities include measuring parts to specifications, mounting tools, adjusting feeds and speeds, and handling materials with hoists or cranes. On-site training provided; high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret typed reports and schedules.
• Ability to interpret blueprints.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Certifications or prior experience with moving machinery such as cranes preferred.
• Basic math aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Operates CNC machines.
• Measures dimensions of finished steel structures to conformance specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Mounts, aligns, and secures tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces on machines.
• Listen to machines to detect abnormal sounds and adjust accordingly.
• Adjusts machine feed, speed, or tooling as required.
• Stops machines to change tooling or setup as needed.
• Lifts workpieces using hoists or cranes.
• Modifies cutting programs to address issues and saves changes.
• Inserts control instructions to start operation.
