Job summary

Great Lakes Cheese, Inc. in Wisconsin is seeking a Weekend Maintenance Technician (6am–6pm) to keep production lines running efficiently. You will repair equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and create parts requisitions to maintain uptime.

The role requires basic mechanical/electrical knowledge, OSHA familiarity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced plant environment. Ideal applicants have a High School diploma or GED and at least 1 year of maintenance experience or training.

Qualifications

• 1 year of maintenance experience and/or training.
• Fundamental understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Ability to make decisions based on standard practices.
• Entry level experience and knowledge of production machinery and equipment.
• Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
• Basic computer skills.

• Respond to production requests for immediate attention to production line issues and problems.

Weekend Maintenance Technician (6am-6pm)

The Maintenance Technician I, II, III, or IV will ensure maximum operating efficiency through the repair of machines and equipment in production and facility. The assigned level will depend on experience, qualifications, and work history.

• Extensive understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Broad depth of experience and knowledge of production machinery and equipment.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve.
• Extensive electrical knowledge/training.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to weld. (TIG, MIG and Stick)

Working Conditions

• Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.
• Ability to frequently handle material from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder and pushing/pulling/carrying.
• Product weight: up to 50 lbs.
• Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 50-60 degrees F.
