Job summary

Great Lakes Cheese is seeking a Weekend Maintenance Technician to support production with 6am-6pm shifts. You will respond to line issues, maintain machinery, keep preventive maintenance records, and order parts as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 1+ year of maintenance or training, with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and OSHA basics. The incumbent will ensure safety, quality, and efficiency while executing multiple tasks and

• Fundamental understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Ability to make decisions based on standard practices.
• Entry level experience and knowledge of production machinery and equipment.
• Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
• Basic computer skills.
• 5 years of maintenance experience and/or training or more.

Responsibilities

Job Overview

The Maintenance Technician I, II, III, or IV will ensure maximum operating efficiency through the repair of machines and equipment in production and facility. The assigned level will depend on experience, qualifications, and work history.

• Broad depth of experience and knowledge of production machinery and equipment.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve.
• Extensive electrical knowledge/training.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to weld. (TIG, MIG and Stick)

Working Conditions

• Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.
• Ability to frequently handle material from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder and pushing/pulling/carrying.
• Product weight: up to 50 lbs.
• Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 50-60 degrees F.
